iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting tentang Display

Display image issues

This can include bright or dark pixels, lines in video, or sections of video missing.

1. Turn iPod touch off and turn it on again. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on top of iPod touch for a few seconds until a red slider appears, and then slide the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
2. View different content to verify that the issue is not content related.
3. If the image is too dark, adjust the brightness. In General Settings choose Brightness and slide the slider.

Display does not go into wide-screen mode

1. Open a web page or video and try turning iPod touch on its side to see if it goes into wide-screen mode.
2. If that doesn't work, try another web page or video.

Note: Not all applications on iPod touch use wide-screen mode. Videos are automatically in wide-screen mode when in iPod and YouTube.
Display shows white screen

1. Turn iPod touch off and turn it on again.
2. If the iPod will not turn off, try to reset it. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until either the Apple logo or battery symbol appears. If the battery symbol appears, continue to charge iPod touch until it is fully charged.
3. If that doesn't work, try restoring the iPod. See this article for assistance.

Display has no backlight or dark screen

1. Turn iPod touch off and turn it on again.
2. If the issue persists, try to reset the iPod touch while it is connected to power. If the battery symbol appears, continue to charge the device until it is fully charged.

Touchscreen not working

1. Clean the screen with a microfiber polishing cloth.
2. Do not wear gloves while using the touchscreen. Do not use the touchscreen with wet hands or immediately after applying hand lotion. Moisture affects touchscreen behavior in the same manner as it affects a trackpad.
3. If you have a protective plastic sheet or film on the touchscreen, try removing it, because it may be preventing the touchscreen from working properly.
4. The current application may be unresponsive; press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on top of iPod touch for a few seconds until a red slider appears. Then press and hold the Home button until the application quits.
5. If that doesn't work, turn the device off and turn it on again. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on the top of the device for few seconds until a red slider appears, and then slide the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
6. If the device did not turn off, reset it. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for a least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
