iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting tentang Power/Battery

Battery does not appear to charge

Important: iPod touch cannot be charged with a FireWire power adapter or FireWire-based car charger.

1. Verify that the power source being used is working properly.
2. If connecting to a computer's USB port, verify it is a high-powered USB 2.0 port. Note: The USB ports on most keyboards don't provide enough power, so if you're connecting iPod touch to a keyboard, make sure it has a high-powered USB 2.0 port.
3. Verify the computer is turned on and not in sleep or standby mode. If iPod touch is connected to a computer that's not turned on or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPod touch battery may drain.
4. Try another USB port.
5. Try charging from a USB charger if available.
6. If that does not help, try another USB cable if available.
7. Also refer to this article about charging the battery.

Battery life seems short

1. Click (www.apple.com/batteries/ipods.html ) for tips on how to prolong iPod touch battery life.
2. If the screen shows a low-battery image, iPod touch is low on power and needs to charge for up to ten minutes before you can use it.
3. If you are charging using your computer, don't connect iPod touch to the keyboard, unless the keyboard has high-powered USB 2.0 ports.
4. Verify that the computer is turned on and not in sleep or standby mode. If iPod touch is connected to a computer that's not turned or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPod touch battery may drain.
5. When charging the battery, leave it connected until it is fully charged.
6. Sync the iPod touch to iTunes and restore the iPod. See this article for assistance.

Will not power on

1. Try charging the iPod touch for 10 minutes or more, by connecting the iPod to your computer (not your keyboard) using the included USB cable or to an Apple USB power adapter.
Note: iPod touch cannot be charged with a FireWire power adapter or FireWire-based car charger. If iPod touch is connected to a computer that’s turned off or in sleep or standby mode, the iPod touch battery may drain instead of charge.
Important: If iPod touch is very low on power, it may display one of the following low-battery images indicating that iPod touch needs to charge for up to ten minutes before you can use it. If iPod touch is extremely low on power, the display may be blank for up to two minutes before one of the low-battery images appears.

2. While connected to a power source, try to reset the iPod touch. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until either the Apple logo or battery symbol appears. If the battery symbol appears, continue to charge iPod touch until it is fully charged.
3. If the iPod touch still doesn't power on, then restore in recovery mode.
4. Finally, check to see if the Liquid Submersion Indicator (LSI) in the headphone jack is activated. Learn more about LSIs.
